Skid Pad Test - Asphalt, Big Bear
Airport - BFG
To view the tests on the Slalom of an individual tire,
click on the image of that tire below.
The BFG tires were tested first, so we decided to re-run the test after the other tires
ran to be sure that dust and tire rubber were not significant factors. While the
second runs showed faster lap time amd more lateral traction, the BFGs were still
the slowest of the three tires. They had the most understeer, and chattered
considerably. The high level of understeer on the skid pad combined with the
oversteer on the slalom make this tire difficult to drive at the limit, and the lack of
consistency is not confidence-inspiring.
